Here you will find the basic framework for blogs at McCombs. As we create more helpful guidelines, we will post here:

Types of Blogs: Official, Sponsored, and Community
Roles and Responsibilities: Ownership and Support

    -
    Types of Blogs
Basically, we see three types of McCombs blogs:

    • Official - Conspicuously branded as speaking with the authority of a McCombs office.
    • Sponsored - Speaks with the voice of chosen individuals; overseen and promoted by an office.
    • Community - Speaks with the voice of affiliated individuals; not overseen or officially promoted.

For a fuller explanation go to the Types of Blogs page.

    Roles and Responsibilities
Official and sponsored blogs are owned by McCombs offices, programs, departments, centers, etc. Their directors must approve them, and they must be overseen to be officially promoted.

The Communications office, with it’s Web Editor and Account Managers, offers strategic support for getting blogs going and making them successful parts of a communications strategy. The Computer Services Department will provide a blogging platform and technical support. Here is a preliminary diagram of ownership and support roles:
